Stay: A block of rooms has been reserved at The Belamar Hotel at a friends and family rate of $139 (ask front desk for "Lanting rate" or go to www.thebelamar.com, then Reservations, then Groups, and enter "Lanting") for the day of the wedding and several days on either side. Rates may go up after May 27. Wedding party members who wish to attend the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner should be checked in by Thursday morning. Set: The wedding party will rehearse at Wayfarers Chapel on Thursday, June 7, in the late afternoon. Then we will have dinner at Bora Bora restaurant in Manhattan Beach. They have lights made out of blowfish! Go: LAX is only a few minutes from Manhattan Beach and the hotel. The hotel provides a shuttle service. Guests should let the front desk know what time the shuttle should collect them from LAX. Taxis and car rentals are available at the airport. Valet service at the hotel is free. Buses will take guests from the hotel to the wedding and back on Sunday. Eat: The reception includes hors d'oeuvres and dinner. Dinner is steak and fish. Wee: Kids are welcome. We are considering having a sitter service at the hotel as the chapel holds only 100 people. Any thoughts on this are appreciated. Do: There is a lot to do in the South Bay (where we live) and L.A. (about twenty minutes away). If you're planning on staying a few days, let us know. We can recommend fun stuff. |
